Desmond Elliot hits cinemas with latest movie

Handsome Nollywood super star, Desmond Elliot is a guy who has come a long way in the movie industry and no one can question the fact that the tall, dark and handsome dude has done right by himself, not only by appearing in more than 200 movies but also by shaping himself into a veritable brand, establishments knock themselves over to associate with. Though currently, working in Sierra Leone the Glo Ambassador is lighting up cinemas across  Africa from this Friday August 17th with his latest movie ‘In The Cupboard’

The movie which features a powerful cast including Ini Edo, Uti Nwachukwu, Alex Ekubo, Biola Segun Williams and the upcoming comedian, Bishop, among many others, was actually shot last year, mostly in choice locations around Lekki and environs.
A suave lady who is really coming into her element, Kehinde Olorunyomi wrote the story with a little tinkering from Desmond himself. “Kehinde wrote the story but while she was doing the script we shared ideas from time to time” said Desmond.

Before making its berth in cinemas across Africa, starting from tomorrow, the movie premiere was done in the United States of America. According to the director, Desmond, it was taken around five states in the United States of America. Namely; New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, Minnesota and Texas.
“It is meant to hit African cinemas, including Ghana, Kenya and South Africa, from Friday August 17th and then Silverbird Lagos, Porthacourt, Enugu, Abuja and Genesis Cinemas in Lagos and Porthacourt. It will be showing in 16 centres at the same time all over Africa  same day. It is a well-planned arrangement and I can beat my chest that movie lovers are in for great a treat” enthused the obviously elated actor/producer/director.
Not taking the credits all by himself Desmond said he didn’t produce the movie all by himself. The project was co-produced with Caroline Danjuma, a former actress, singer and a respected figure in the industry. “I met Caroline Danjuma and we both agreed to produce the movie having seen the uniqueness and the power of the script” he added
“In the Cupboard” according to Desmond should have been “Skeletons in the Cupboard” but for good effect they had decided to go with “In the Cupboard”. The movie is a drama about a dysfunctional, long-separated family which had to come back from their various destinations abroad upon the death of their father.
During the reading of the deceased’s will a startling revelation comes up and changes everything  among the siblings. Their lives are never the same as they come face to face with certain realities of life that may very well make or break them.
Talking on the message the movie is trying to pass on to the society, Desmond explained that the whole idea is to foster family ties and bring to fore why it is important for family to stick together. “These days it is so disheartening to see brothers and sisters at each other’s throats over issues of land, property and other things. This movie just goes to show family are meant to stick together”
On what he is doing in Sierra Leone: “ Currently I am shooting a movie called “Reflections” and this one is way bigger and it has a mixed cast and crew of Nigerians, Sierra Leonians and Americans. Though we have a rich cast but I am banking on the story to sell the film which is built around the Sierra Leonian story; going deep into Sierra Leonian history with a little bit on liberation of Sierra Leone” reported the actor who is shooting, directing and producing the film.
